About Lina Huring
During the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2011 you will be able to see products designed by Lina Huring in three different places. Together with Maria Johansson, Lina was chosen for the juried exhibition UNG8 (Young Swedish Design) with pieces from The Fragile Collection. The exhibition will continue to travel during the rest of the year.
Lina also designed a table for Kallemo and a series of lamps for LampGustaf.
In 2010 Lina worked together with Maria Johansson and Helena Svensson with the collection named The Fragile Collection. Collected Trophys are unique objects that celebrate the balance of form and epochs of design. Like tokens that hold stories and tension between shapes. The Trophy Table, Poise Light, Reeling Bowl and Equilibrium Vessel are in the exhibition, wich was shown in april in Milan. After Milan, the collection continued to travel to Lulea in the north of Sweden and to Kalmar in the south.
Lina also exhibited the collection Objects & Materials during the Stockholm Design Week in 2010.
Objects & Materials is all about letting the material become the expression of a furniture piece. The quality of a material gives the viewer associations, memories and impulses. These impulses were carefully translated into pieces of furniture and lights. The inspiration comes from waste lether pieces, the dry, warm smell of cork, the transparency of glass and decorative porcelain objects.
During the Stockholm Furniture Fair, Lina also exhibited the NEBRASKA lights for LampGustaf AB. Lina is part of the designcollective HEADOFFICE, based in Stockholm but working around the globe. HEADFOFICE were 1st prize winners in the comptetition of Stockholm City christmas decoration 2010.
In 2009 Lina was, together with Maria Johansson awarded with UNG7 during the Stockholm Furniture Fair for the book/research project DESIGN STATISTICS ANNUAL. The book is still touring in exhibitions all over the world.
Graduated in 2008 from HDK/Gothenburg, Lina started to work for the swedish design group FRONT. Lina has since then been designing shop interiors for H&M as well as furniture and lights for Kallemo, Lampgustaf, Blond among others. She also studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. As a designer she combines direct ideas with her wide range of skills with knowledge and her artistic background. The result is furniture and products that communicate their own story.
Lina works with swedish and international customers within the field of furniture, light and interior design. Please contact the office if you are interested in a collaboration.
